LaxNOVA History

LaxNOVA Events, established in 2002 in Northern Virginia, aims to organize premier lacrosse tournaments for youth and high school teams. Fairfax High School Head Coach Marty Joyner founded the company to address the need for more local tournament opportunities.

The company's flagship event, the Fairfax Fall Brawl, quickly became one of the East Coast's largest fall tournaments. This youth and high school lacrosse tournament features age divisions from 6U through high school, attracting over 200 teams annually to Northern Virginia.

In 2020, LaxNOVA introduced the Winter Thaw event, providing boys' high school players a pre-tryout competition opportunity and a training platform for new officials. A girls' division is planned for 2024.

LaxNOVA Events and Oakton High School Athletic Boosters formed a strategic partnership in 2024. This alliance brings LaxNOVA events back to school property, supporting school fundraising efforts. As part of this partnership, LaxNOVA Events will also manage the Turkey Shootout Lacrosse Tournament.

For over two decades, LaxNOVA has significantly contributed to the growth of lacrosse in the mid-Atlantic region. The company has earned a reputation for hosting high-quality events, emphasizing fun, professional staffing, and competitive formats.
